A distribution list is a list of Users that will receive Alerts triggered by different events in BigSIS. For example, if a new donation is made, BigSIS can send an alert straight to your inbox to let you and your team know there's a new donation. The Distribution List is how you define what "team" receives which alerts. It's a grouping of users that we will later assign to an alert. Additionally, you can be on as many Distribution Lists as you desire!
IMPORTANT!: If you are adding a User to a Distribution List who is both an employee and a parent/guardian, check out this article to Adjust their Person and Employee Records so that Alerts go to their work email address not their personal email address
Setting up a New Distribution List
- From the Dashboard, go to System > Settings > Alert Distribution Lists. Click the New button
(Right-click and "Open image in new tab" to enlarge) - Enter a Title for your list (e.g. Development Team), then Save and Continue
- Under Users in this Distribution List, click the New button
