Calendar feeds are links to calendars you have created in BigSIS. By setting up a public calendar feed you will be able to make calendars, of your choosing, available to be added to a user’s own Google Calendar, iCalendar, or Outlook. You will be able to add as many calendars to each feed as you like. Users will add these feeds by logging in to the portal, going to the calendar tab, and then adding whichever available public calendar feeds they want.
Go to Calendars > Calendars > Calendar Feeds
Click on “New.”
Give your calendar feed a title. For example, “High School Public Feed”, “Athletic Events Public Calendar”, or “Winter Events Public Calendar.”
(Optional) add a description.
Select “Is Public” if you would like this calendar feed to be available to any user in the portal. Do not select this option if you want this feed to only be available to admin users with calendar permissions.
Click “Save and Continue” to add calendars to this feed
At this point, you have just created the feed itself and now you need to add the calendars you want as part of this feed.
Click “New” to add a calendar.
Use the drop-down menu to add a calendar.
Click “Save and Add Another” to add more calendars. Once you have added the calendars you want in this feed click “Save and Back.”
You will now see the calendars you have added to this feed.
If you visit the portal all public calendar feeds will be available to users by going to the Calendar tab > Feeds. This will show all of the feeds you have made public. Click on “Add to My Google Calendar” or “Download for iCalendar” to add this feed.
When logged in as a BigSIS user you will see the option for “Manage your Personalized Feed.” You will have the option to name you personalized feed and add any calendars that you see available.
Follow these steps for each calendar feed you would like to add.
