Activity templates can help save you time when you have to create the same kind of activity multiple times (e.g., a volunteer opportunity that the school offers its parents year after year). Activity templates act like a cookie cutter so that you can create many copies of the same activity when needed without having to re-enter the settings for the activity every time you create a new copy. The settings that can be saved in an activity template include the activity's title, description, instructions, category, supervisor, and default block size. And don't worry, just because you use a template to make a copy of an activity template doesn't mean you are locked into any of the settings you saved in the template. You can always tweak any of the settings after you make the copy. These templates are not required, they are just an optional way to speed up your job!
From the Left-Menu
- Go to Volunteers > Activity Templates
- Click the New button.
- Fill in the settings you would like to save as part of the template.
- To use an activity template to create a copy of an activity go to Volunteers > Activities then click the New button and select New from Template. In the page that opens up, select the activity template you want to use from the Activity Template drop-down field.
