Your Document Center is a quick and easy way to store documents, logos, and more in BigSIS. You can share it in the parent or employee portal document center, store documents internally for admins, or use the link for that item (adding something to the public document center automatically creates a link) that can be used in email, portal snippets, inquiry thank-you messages and more. Here are some quick steps to start using your document center!
- If you are new to the Document Center you may need to start by adding Document Types. Here are some quick steps to getting document types set up: How to Add Document Types
If you already have document types setup you may skip to the next step! - Next, add a new Public Document. Go to Miscellaneous > Document Center > Public Documents > Click New
(click to enlarge images) - Title your Document and Select the Document Type. You can also add up to two tags. Without a tag the document won't be visible in the portal, the tags tell the system where the document should be shown. Note: Your tags may not be the same as in this example, see step 4.1 for where to find which tag your school uses)

Guardian Portal Documents for the parent document center and Employee Portal Documents for the employee document center.
PRO TIP! Please make sure that the documents subtab under the Parents tab in the Portal Set up.

- Take note that when you add to the Public Documents that it creates a Url for the document. This allows you to use that Url for adding links to your stored document. For example, if you want to add a link to a document or add an image to an email you can copy that link and add it where you need it.
