This article will help portal users check their email account and also show steps on how to send an email from the portal. The first step of checking the email account is necessary for teachers who need to verify their email account password or set up Google less secure apps. Checking your Email Account
If this is your first time attempting to send emails these are the steps to verify your email account:
- After logging in to the portal, click on the My Account tab
- Next, scroll down until you locate the option Email Accounts (For Sending Email From the Portal)

- If you have trouble with the test, click the Click here if you're having trouble sending emails button for further assistance.
How to Email From the Portal
From the Teachers tab:
- View one of your Current Courses (you can click View Course but double-clicking works here too).
- This will bring you to your student list. Select the students (or the student's whom you would like to email their parents) and click the Communicate button to email Students or Guardians.
- This will take you to the Send Email page where you can generate your email. Click the below image to see the overall view of the Send Email page.

- Sending To - this will show the recipients and their email addresses
- Send From - this will show which email account your are using. This is usually set up by your administrators and should be linked to your primary school email address
- Subject- where you will provide your email subject (this is a required field!)
- Type of Email - this will let you change to plain text email if you prefer. See below for a brief description of these options.
- Html - this is the standard type of email and you will type in the body of your email in the email body below
- Plain Text - this will be a simplified view of the email body and will not allow any formatting
- Add BCC - this will allow you to add BCC recipients on the fly (read help bubble for more information)
- Add CC - this will allow you to add a CC recipients on the fly (read help bubble for more information)
- Choose an Email Template (Optional) - select one of your pre-built email templates from the template drop-down menu or click the green New button to add a new template.
- Add Email Markers & Link Builder (create links to files you can insert into your email) - this expandable field is a list of email markers. Markers allow you to fill in certain personalized information into your email. Click copy and then paste the email marker into your email and each email recipient will have the associated information into their email.
- Available Links - this will let you select from any links you have added.
- Create Link to New File - this will allow you to add a new link on the fly.
- Email Body - where you will type the body of your email or if using an email template where the body of your template will appear. TIP: Don't forget about the Check Spelling option!
- Attach Files - this expandable field will allow you to attach up to three documents
- Signature - this will allow you to include your email signature, remove your email signature, or add an email signature.
- Click here to send a Test Email - send a test email to preview your email (note you can also preview it by using the below preview options!).
- Action Buttons - these are the buttons to Preview First Email, Preview All Emails, Send Now, and Save as Draft.
TIP: It is highly recommended that you use of the preview options to review your email before you send it! The Preview First Email option can be very helpful to review an email and make sure that your email markers are working properly.
- Sending To - this will show the recipients and their email addresses
Sent Emails and Drafts
- Click Emails and Drafts to see all of the emails that you have sent and emails that are saved as drafts.
- You will have a few options to sort or filter on this table. One you filter for the correct emails you may view sent emails or you may send drafts.
- Filters - You may filter for All emails, Sent emails, or Drafts.

- Filters - You may filter for All emails, Sent emails, or Drafts.
- After you filter or sort for the necessary email drafts select all that you would like to send and click Send Email Drafts.
IMPORTANT: Before clicking Send Email Drafts take note that once you click this button the email drafts will be sent automatically and you will not have another chance to confirm.
