This article will show you how to create a new campaign, appeal, and/or Fund in BigSIS.
How to Create a New Campaign
A Campaign is a fund-raising period at your school, for example, "Annual Campaign 2018-2019." Most schools only have one annual campaign, but some schools have many campaigns and it's entirely up to you.
From the Dashboard:
- Go to Donations in the left menu > Other Tools > Donation Campaigns
- Click the New button
- Give your campaign a Title (e.g. Annual Campaign 2018-2019) and a Code (e.g. AC1819) used for reporting purposes
- Set a Begin Date and an End Date
- Then, enter the Goal Amount
- Uncheck Allow on public web donation forms if you don't want this campaign on public forms
How to Create a New Appeal
Schools all use appeals differently. They could be used for Galas or other special events, or a way to allocate money to a specific cause. For example, you could have a "Fund-a-Need" appeal as part of your Annual Campaign 2018-2019. Having an appeal will allow you to not only keep track of the money given towards the appeal but allow you to thank those donors specifically for their contribution.
From the Dashboard:
- Go to Donations in the left menu > Other Tools > Donation Appeals
- Click the New button
- Give the Appeal a Title (e.g. Spring 2019 Gala) and a Code (e.g. GALASP19) used for reporting purposes
- Then, enter the Goal Amount
- Specify the Campaign
- Uncheck Allow on public web donation forms if you don't want this campaign on public forms
How to Create a New Fund
Schools all use fund differently and some don't use them at all. Funds are a way of allocating money to a specific cause or need. An example of a Fund might be a raffle or an in-kind donation drive.
From the Dashboard:
- Go to Donations in the left menu > Other Tools > Donation Funds
- Click the New button
- Give the Fund a Title (e.g. Raffle) and a Code (e.g. RAF) used for reporting purposes
- Then, enter the Goal Amount
- Specify the Campaign
- Uncheck Allow on public web donation forms if you don't want this campaign on public forms
