New Assessment Report Feature: Course Grades Table (includes automatically calculated averages from all assessment periods)
Assessment Reports can now include all grades from all assessment periods in the term (as well as other terms if a course is part of a Master Course). Admins can choose to display averages for the end of the term or year as well as after other selected assessment periods. Admins have lots of options on how to display the new Course Grades Table (e.g., Letter Grades only, Percentage Only, both, decide when to average grades, what weight to give each period, etc. and much more)
New Assessment Averaging Utility
This new feature located under ‘Students > Other > Assessment Averaging Utility’ allows admins to select multiple assessment periods for students and average their grades together into a new assessment period (e.g., you can take the grades from Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 and average them together into a new assessment period titled Semester 1).
Assessment Periods can now be weighted. This will affect the two new features above. If you want grades from one period to count for more when averaging them on the Assessment Reports or in the new Averaging Utility, then change the weight in the assessment period. If you want a specific course in have its own weight, you can override the assessment period weight by giving the course grade its own weight.
Adding and removing assessment periods for courses has been significantly simplified.
When generating courses, you can now immediately select which assessment periods the courses belong to.
When creating new courses (or courses from templates) without the course generation tool, you can also immediately select assessment periods. If any students are already registered for the course, they'll get added right away to the newly added assessment period(s) too.
We have added many helpful filters within Assessment Periods to make it much easier to remove assessment periods in bulk from courses that should not have them.
The Academic Year Deep Copy has also been re-designed and significantly simplified. Additionally, you can now copy assessment periods from the previous year as well (no more creating these manually). Plus, all dates are updated intelligently and automatically to land on the same day of the week the following year (including leap year exceptions) so admins spend much less time when setting up new years.
Registrations can now assign decimal values to the ‘Percentage of Credit’ field. Prior to this change, a whole number was required.
