This article will discuss the steps for editing many settings for your course templates. If you need to add course templates or need to edit courses you have already generated for a term, you may use the below articles for reference.
NOTE: We want to give you a reminder that course templates are something that you will use every time you generate courses for a term. That means you only want to make edits to your templates IF those settings stay the same every term. If a setting changes every term, you will not want to add this to the course template; instead, you will later add this after you generate the course for the term.
- Go to Courses > Other > Course Templates.
- Select and Edit the appropriate course.
- You will now have a series of options to edit for your course template:
- Enter the Title of your course (e.g. Music Gr. 1).
NOTE: Make your course titles specific. If you have 5 courses called "Music," it will be difficult to determine which programs are in that course. "Music (Gr. 1)" would be much more useful). - Enter the Description of the course.
NOTE: We understand that sometimes course descriptions change over time so teachers also have access to descriptions if they would like to write their own once the course is generated. - Enter the Order number. This will help shape the order of the course when it appears on a report. For example, make the course you want to appear first a "0." Then make the following courses 5,10, 15, 20, etc. to create the order you want them to appear.
- Complete the rest of the form as necessary.
