Percent When Letter Grade Entered and Percent at Least are two very important numbers when trying to average grades for transcripts. One option helps average letter grades into percentages, and one helps average number grades into percentages. For example, if a student receives an A, what should the system equate that to in a percentage. Or, the opposite, if a student receives a 95%, what should the system equate that to in a letter grade.
This becomes especially imperative when using Master Courses because Master Courses average grades from multiple courses into one grade. Without having these two numbers added your transcripts will not be able to average grades properly and will prompt you to enter them. These two options together mean when two grades are averaged, we have a number to average them on based on the Percent When Letter Grade Entered and the Percent at Least number that helps us dictate what the average grade will be.

Percent When Letter Grade Entered
Percent When Letter Grade Entered is the percentage that a student earns on an assignment or course when an assessment is entered. Meaning, this should be the maximum value you would consider someone as having received if they received that letter grade.
For example, if the Percent When Letter Grade Entered number is a 100 for an A, then when someone receives an A they would receive the number value of a 100. If the Percent When Letter Grade Entered number is a 94 for an A- when someone receives an A- they would receive the number value of a 94. This is done so that if that student needs to average two grades together, one where they received an A and one where they received an A-, the system will know how to average those into a final grade. So, in this case, the 100 and the 94 they receive based on the A and the A- equate to a 97 for that student. This happens a lot with Master Courses.
Percent at Least
The Percent at Least number is the percentage that a student must earn on an assignment or course in order to receive that assessment.
For example, if a student receives a 95 or above and the Percent at Least number you have for an A is 95 they would receive an A. If we looked at someone who received, for example, a 90 they would receive an A- if the Percent at Least number was 90. Meaning that if you receive at least a 90 to a 94 you would receive an A- and if you receive a 95 or above you would receive an A. This means that the Percent at Least number used across all of your assessments is what ultimately creates the assessment range when a percentage is used.
These together mean when two grades are averaged, we have a number to average them on based on the Percent When Letter Grade Entered and the Percent at Least number that helps us dictate what the average grade will be.
