Welcome to the third of our Admissions/Leads webinars. This webinar will be detailed training on how to work with your BigSIS Online Applications. This will include adding your application to your lead enrollment configuration, your options for releasing applications, how parents fill out the application in the portal, and how to track your applications.
Our primary goal is to make sure you have a full understanding of how you release your application to parents manually or via your admissions portal, how to invite your parents to sign up and fill out the application in the portal, how to set up email alerts for your application and how to track your application via the Submitted/Pending Applications table.
We also plan to cover more advanced material at the end of the training on how to edit your application forms. This will include a look at how to copy your existing application, basic form options, how to add widgets to your application, and how to make edits to your existing widgets.

- Applications Used in Your Lead Enrollment Configuration (L.E.C) (4:45)
- We will start our conversation with one of the main concepts we visited in Leads 2; the Lead Enrollment Configuration (L.E.C). This is the nucleus, or core, of the admissions module so today we will explore how this affects what applications are being used per program, per academic year. For example, applications can be the same every year or they may change. They also may be different from one program to the next. The L.E.C. gives the user clear-cut control over this.
- This will also lead us to talk about application custom forms that allow users starting an application in the portal to see different custom fields than those filling out your public inquiry form. For schools that don’t provide a link directly to their application, this can be of great importance.
E.g., this means the only parents/guardians filling out your application directly from the portal are your existing parents. You may want to ask them different questions than new parents/guardians who are accessing the public inquiry form.
- Client Settings and Portal Setup (9:40)
- We will also briefly take a reminder tour of Client Settings so that we can incorporate this into our next section.

- Releasing an Application to Parents/Guardians in the Portal (16:30)
- Each school has a few options for releasing applications to parents. Some will want to let parents start an application right away from their website while others may want to release the application when they deem the parents/guardians and school are ready.

- Demonstration of Admissions Link (16:25)
- Each school has its own admissions link to use if they want to allow parents to create a BigSIS account on their own and fill out an online application. This means parents don’t have to wait for an invitation to the portal. Instead, they can jump ahead to the application whenever they want.
- We will demonstrate how this works and what it will look like for both the school and the parents.
- Demonstration of Releasing an Application to a Parent Manually (15:45)
- Schools also have the option to release the application to parents. This is sometimes by the explicit choice of the school or for any parent that opted to just fill out the inquiry form originally and now is ready to fill out the application.

- Sending Signup Links to Parents (39:00)
- Sending signup links to parents is very important. It not only allows them to access the admissions portal to fill out your application but it also allows them to create their BigSIS account that they will always use. This includes filling out the eventual BigSIS online contract, other online forms, and more!

- Filling out an Application in the Portal (43:45)
- You need to be the expert on everything a parent experiences and you need to know what your application looks like in the portal. That leads us to our next demonstration; filling out the application in the portal.

- Using the Submitted/Pending Applications table
