How to Move a Donation from one Donor Profile to Different Donor Profile

Sometime a donation is made under one donor profile, but later realize that it should have been made through a Donor Adviced-Fund or through another donor profile that they are part of. In the case of this occurring, please follow these few, simple steps in order to get that donation moved to the correct donor profile.

PRO TIP! This function only moves the donation to another Donor Profile. It does not change who received Hard Credit for the donation and or who is tied to the Invoice. The new Donor Profile will only receive Soft Credit for the donation.

1. Go to Donations > Donation. This will take you to the Donations table. 
   
2. Select the donation you need to move and Edit.
   
   
3. Go down to the Donor Profile Information section > click the Change Donor Profile drop down > type name of Donor Profile > Save Donor Profile.
   
4. The donation has been moved to the new profile. If you want you can go to the donor profile table and look up the profile you changed it to and verify that the donation was moved.
