The core Person Record in BigSIS has been expanded to include the following new stock fields: Preferred Name, Race, and Pronouns. Additionally, when the "Non-Binary" client setting is enabled, all users will now have the option to select additional gender options. ❕ Note: None of these fields are required for any users. If a user decides to enter pronouns on their own, then their preferred pronouns may be displayed in directories.
User may now edit these fields from the My Account page in the portal
Directories & Quickviews
School directories (in the portal) and quickviews throughout the system will now include user's preferred name, nickname, and personal pronouns (if provided).
Preferred Name
A user's preferred name is now tightly integrated into the system and will appear (either in place of the first name or next to it) in the following places and more: exports/reports, directories, quickviews, teacher rosters, gradebooks, daily attendance, class lists, person table, student table, enrollment table, directory reports, health reports, emergency contact reports, donor profile greetings, and many other locations.
If you have been storing preferred names in the nickname field, we have added a utility in the People table to allow you to transfer user nicknames into the new Preferred Name field, which may be more appropriate (unless it's an actual nickname).
Leads
Just like Person Records, Lead Records have also had their stock fields expanded to include the new inclusive fields.
Additionally, editing Leads is faster than ever with the new editing makeover. Users no longer need to click the "Change Status" button to change a status, you can do so right from Lead itself now. A new "Edit Info" button has been added next to the Lead name to make it easy to adjust any demographic information. Finally, a new Quick Notes interface has been added to make it super quick and easy to add general notes about the lead and view them immediately when you open up a Lead Record.
Inquiry Form
The inquiry form now has additional client settings. You may enable or disable any of the following fields: gender, pronouns, and preferred name for students and parents
New Application Form & Contract Form Widget: Demographic Questions & Fields
The application form "Lead Summary" widget has been renamed and redesigned. It is now called "Demographic Questions & Fields for Leads" and allows admins to specify the fields they would like BigSIS to add to applications forms including: date of birth, preferred name, nickname, middle name, race, ethnicity, gender and personal pronouns. All of these can be enabled or disabled. Any data entered by end users on their application forms will now be saved directly to the Lead record. Additionally, once a lead is admitted into the school and a Person Record is created for them, all of these fields will also automatically get carried over to their Person Record.
New Enrollment Form & People Form Widget: Demographic Questions & Fields
Just like the new Demographic Questions & Fields widget for Leads, we have also added this widget to the Enrollment MPFs and the People MPFs. This will allow you to request updated demographic data from both parents and their children whenever you send out your enrollment (or back-to-school) forms, including the ability to provide answers for the new inclusive fields.
New Letters of Recommendation Widget for Application Forms
A new widget has been added for application forms that allows you to ask applicants to supply references. The widget will automatically email the references for you requesting that they fill out an evaluation letter or form. BigSIS will then collect the letters of recommendation (and any additional evaluation) and store them in the Lead Record for you.
New Media Release Form widgets for Contract and Enrollment MPFs
A new widget can be added to enrollment MPFs that collect media release information from users. The widget integrates with the rest of the BigSIS admin so that you may then filter for this data from the Enrollments Table.
Missing Document Features for all MPFs (Applications, Contracts, Enrollment, and People)
New filters, exports, email markers, and features have been added to all the MPF tables including applications, contracts, enrollment, and people submission tables that allow you to filter the completed or pending forms by missing documents that you requested from users. This makes it much easier to track which parents have failed to supply a required document and send then an email with the exact list of documents they still need to supply. Finally, we have also added new a new "Bulk Send Back to Portal" option for some MPFs if you need to send them back so that parents can re-submit with them the required missing documents.
Course Ordering and Assessment Reports
Courses and Course Templates now have a field for Order. There is also a new default 'Style 0' for all Assessment Reports that will print out Courses in the reports by their order. If you set an Order in the Course Template, then every time you generate a course from that template, it will retain the Course Template's default Order.
New naming conventions and improved UI when creating new Donor Advised Funds
New options have been added when creating Donor Advised Funds allowing you to specify whether the company name should be included in the giving name and/or greeting. This will make it much easier to create acknowledgments for the donors.
Donation Forms Login Prompts
If a user is not logged in when they go to the BigSIS donation form but enters an email that is associated with a user account, they will receive an alert prompting them to log in. Additionally, if a user clicks the "Go to Login" button, they will be required to log in (previously they could click on that button and continue to make a donation without logging in).
Minor UI improvements for the admin menu
Old MPFs that are no longer used can now be made inactive, which will hide them in the BigSIS UI
Speed and UI Improvements for the Filters & Query Creator
The Filters & Query tool will no longer force a count of records every time a new filter is created. This vastly speeds up the tool. Additionally, filter condition descriptions have been fixed or refined to accurately list what the condition does.
UI Improvements for Custom Form & Custom Fields table
When creating a custom form and adding custom fields, you may now re-order the fields by clicking the up/down arrow buttons rather than editing the order number. Additionally, you may select multiple fields at once and click the new grouping button to group the selected fields into a row.
Added a Client Setting to display Additional Contacts on Quickviews
A 'Change Enrollment Date' utility has been added to Enrollments Table
Added additional ParentSquare sync options to Client Settings
Most reports in the Report Viewer now have options to filter by Cohorts, Programs, and Schedules
